Despite the common name with its predecessors, the new SX4 has the right to be considered a completely different model of the Japanese brand. In addition to the redesigned platform, from which no more than 5% of the total number of parts remained, the dimensions of the car have changed significantly. The wheelbase of the car has increased by 100 mm, and the SX4 has added 150 mm in length. The car has become noticeably more spacious, the trunk is completely ready to take on 160 liters of luggage more (430 liters in total).
In addition, the Suzuki SX4 received upgraded 1.6-liter engines (117 hp and 156 Nm): a petrol “four” and a turbodiesel (120 hp and 320 Nm). The gasoline engine can be aggregated with a five-speed mechanics or a variator, in the arsenal of which there is a manual mode for seven gears. The unit, running on heavy fuel, put a manual six-speed box.
The car is available in both front- and all-wheel drive versions. In the latter case, the Suzuki SX4 is equipped with the AllGrip AWD system with four modes Auto, Sport, Snow and Lock. The rear wheels can receive up to 50% of traction. In addition, with the help of electronic assistants, AllGrip AWD is able to simulate cross-wheel locks, slowing down slipping wheels.
In addition to everything, the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross received better materials and an increased list of both basic and optional equipment.
